History

The first germ of an idea for Dragon Realm MUD started in the fall of 1993, when six friends living in Dickson Hall at Cornell University were introduced to the wild world of MUDs. Two of those friends, Forbeo and Light, thought they could do better than the immortals on the MUD they were currently playing and started dreaming of the day when they could join those immortals in coding new and great things. That day never arrived...

In the fall of 1994, while Forbeo was playing on the MUD in the Dickson computer lab, he had an encounter which changed the course of his life, and birthed Dragon Realm MUD. Can you say DR was divinely inspired? Perhaps not, but to Forbeo it sure seemed so. During a network outage around 3 am, Forbeo met a young, unassuming student that worked for the University's network department. This person also told Forbeo how a MUD could be run - a MUD of Forbeo's very own. Forbeo never met that student again, try and he might to find him. A message from the gods? Perhaps not, but fate none-the-less.
